Pope St. John XXIII Family-Based Catechetical Program
In it's 2025 inaugural year, the Pope St. John XXIII Family-Based Catechetical Program is an endeavor to teach the entire family their faith together. Parents/guardians/children meet two Sundays a month for roughly an hour in the rectory with Father Christopher Feist (Parochial Vicar) and Bill Wannall (Pastoral Associate) while their children are split up into age-appropriate groups (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) led by Sister Servants of the Lord and the Virgin Matará and volunteer catechists. We meet twice a month on Sundays between the 9am and 12pm Masses (10:30-11:30am) recognizing the importance of Mass attendance for both the parents and children in their faith formation. The subject matter each Sunday is the same across all groups; tailored to each age-appropriate group.
Affiliate parishes include Sacred Heart (La Plata), St. Catherine of Alexandria (McConchie), and St. Ignatius Loyola (Hilltop).
Registration is now open and program begins September 14, 2025
